Maureen Denise McCormick is the daughter of Richard McCormick. She was born August 5th, 1956 on the outskirts of Woodland Hills California. Her father was a schoolteacher and her mom was a stay-at-home mom. There are three brothers older than her: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick began performing and singing from a young age. Her rise to fame as a fairytale started when she won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest when she was six, which prompted an inquiry from an agent for talent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency and asked her if she would like to work in show business. McCormick landed her first major task in 1964 when she starred in a television commercial for Mattels newest doll Baby Pattaburp. The following year she appeared in an additional firm's Chatty Cathy Doll and was immediately chosen to play her role in the La Jolla Playhouse play Wind ItUp and ItBreaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick's audition was one of 1200 children who auditioned for the role of the oldest towheaded girl in The Brady Bunch. The show starred Florence Henderson and Robert Reed who were newlyweds with an unmarried family. The show ran for five seasons. McCormick's book Heres the Story, Surviving Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice was published in 2008. In it she revealed that McCormick almost lost her virginity on the set of the series during the fifth season when it was played by Barry Williams. In 2008, McCormick revealed in her book Here's the story: Surviving Marcia and Finding My True Voice, that during season five of the show she almost lost her virginity to actor Barry Williams. It would have happened she told me, but the timing wasn't right for us.
