Maureen FitzSimons, better known as Maureen O'Hara in America, was a child prodigy. It was an innate trait for a girl of Irish origin, and that was surrounded during her early years by talented family members as well as parents. Maureen was born in this cosy haven, August 17, 1920. She was raised by her parents as well as family members. Marguerita Lilburn FitzSimons was her mother. She was a skilled contralto. Charles FitzSimons was a successful businessman in Dublin who also controlled a portion of the Irish soccer team Shamrock Rovers. Maureen was the second child of six FitzSimons children - Peggy, Florrie, Charles B. Fitzsimons, Margot Fitzsimons and James O'Hara completed this beautiful family. Maureen enjoyed playing sporting games in her youth and excelled in sports. Furthermore she was gifted to act. As evidenced by winning pretty much every Feis award for drama and theatrical performing her country offered. By age 14 she was invited into the world-renowned Abbey Theater and pursued her dreams of classical theatre and operatic singing.
